Time for a new weapon.
Somewhat inspired by the no-nonsense configuration of the terminator plasma rifle (but still with added non-sense, though), this futuristic combat rifle is based, yet again, on alien technology.
Basically a pulsed-electron-beam automatic that causes both kinetic and electrical damage. Uses a conventional battery for cost-reduction, as E-115-power sources exceed the budget of most customers. The power mags are inexpensive compared to a E-115 power source, but rather heavy to carry.
Fires fast and has a good capacity due to the extraordinary yield provided by the unique mechanism. Accuracy is average, somewhat below that of a well-maintained assault rifle's, but effective ranges are similar.

And which well-maintained assault rifle are you basing the range on? ;P
:iconlunaticstar:
Okay. I love the design, but my little brain is baffled. I fail at scifi somtimes, and weapons most of the time, and I can't figure out which .. thingy .. fires. The one on the top for sure, but is the nozzle thing on the bottom like, a second chamber? Like is the energy and the kinetic damage 2 seperate shots? >_> Or is it an igntion source like on a flamer? @_@

it looks like a laser sight or maybe a range-finder
:iconlunaticstar:
laser sight! That makes sense. The coffee had not set in yet. For some reason I was thinking upside-down scope. Haha. :D

Makes big holes in soft targets and kills electronics at the same time... so:
Very.

I can see a weapons like this being popular in smaller 3rd(?) world countries military forces or used by security corp.

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
